LEEP

LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure):

The Group for Women of Hampton Roads offers a procedure known as LEEP which is performed using a low-voltage electrified wire loop to cut away abnormal cells and tissue. LEEP is often performed after an abnormal Pap smear or colposcopy has been executed; either to remove what is found during the procedure or remove tissue unseen during the colposcopy. Our physicians are also able to further test the cells removed to diagnose larger issues that may be occurring.

The LEEP procedure is performed in our office, takes only a few minutes and requires no overnight hospital stay.
