Hysteroscopy

The Group for Women of Hampton Roads offers a procedure known as hysteroscopy which is performed to give your physician a better look at the lining of your uterus. The main reasons for hysteroscopy is to accurately locate the root cause of abnormal bleeding and cramping or to further determine if there is a problem in the uterus which is causing infertility. During this process, an additional biopsy (sample tissue) may be taken for further evaluation.

A hysteroscopy can be performed at our office or in a hospital setting and in most cases does not require an overnight stay.
