The Group for Women keeps your safety and the safety of our staff our top priority. We want you to know that we are closely monitoring the rapidly changing recommendations provided by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) the VDH (Virginia Department of Health) and ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) to continue to provide excellent care to our patients.
We will provide updated information here that will include changes to our office policies and procedures, offer links to FAQ’s and services such as child birthing classes now provided to our patients virtually.
Effective today, We are asking that all patients wear a mask when visiting our offices for appointments. We understand that there are challenges in the community finding masks during this pandemic as is with our office being able to order masks to supply to our patients. The CDC has provided a very useful guide on how to wear a mask and how to make homemade mask. If you are unable to come in with a mask, it’s ok, we will still see you but encourage you to make all efforts to do what you can to protect yourself and our staff by utilizing any home made remedy available. Here is the link to the CDC’s guidance:

Effective Monday March 23, 2020 we will no longer be allowing guests to accompany our patients with the exception of small children, an aide needed for assistance with mobility or a translator.
The Group for Women is asking that any patient experiencing respiratory illness, cough, fever or flu like symptoms to cancel their appointments.
If you have traveled or have been in contact with a known positive COVID-19 or persons under investigation for COVID-19 we ask that you cancel your appointment.
We have begun taking temperatures of all patients and staff to continue to do our part to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
All preventative appointments have been cancelled and rescheduled for June 2020.
In efforts to provide our patients with an alternative to in-person visits, The Group for Women will offer a Telehealth visit option. If you would like to request a Telehealth visit you can email telehealth@tgfw.com or you can call our office at 466-5751. Please understand that we will do our best to provide these services as needed however, some visits may not be a candidate for this type of service and an in-person visit will be scheduled. This Telehealth service is provided by Doxy.me, and does NOT require our patients to set up accounts. You must have a smart phone, iPad or a computer with a camera. If you do not have access to either we will provide you with a voice call only. You will be provided a link via text or email to which you will simply click on at the time of your scheduled visit right from the comforts of your home.
Due to social isolation, most “classes” gathering more than 10 individuals had to be canceled. Here is a link to “Online Birthing Classes”
